A judicial ruling in favor of a contracting company for 9.3 million Saudi riyals to recover dues from a construction project

In the construction industry, delayed payments can pose serious challenges, threatening the stability and progress of projects. This was the situation faced by a leading construction company, which had SAR 9,300,000 in unpaid dues after completing a major construction project. Our legal team began by thoroughly reviewing all contracts, payment certificates, technical reports, and official correspondence. The aim was not just to collect documents, but to build a cohesive legal narrative demonstrating that the company had fully completed the project according to contractual terms and specifications, and was entitled to every riyal owed. We implemented a strategic litigation approach, combining legal insight with technical analysis, presenting evidence in a structured and compelling way that made the case clear from every angle. The outcome was decisive: the court issued a final judgment in favor of the company, ordering payment of the full amount of SAR 9,300,000. This success is more than a financial victory; it reflects our firm’s expertise in construction and project dispute resolution and our deep understanding of Saudi contract and commercial law. It also highlights our commitment to protecting client rights and ensuring justice in every case. The story demonstrates a key lesson: the right legal strategy, backed by careful preparation and precise analysis, can turn a complex dispute into a clear and tangible success. If your company faces delayed payments or contractual disputes, partnering with a specialized legal team can make the difference between loss and full recovery of your rights.

A judicial ruling in favor of a contractor in a pipe factory construction project for 5 million Saudi riyals

In the industrial projects sector within economic cities, contracting and supply agreements are the cornerstone of mega-project success, yet they can also give rise to complex financial disputes requiring precise legal expertise. Our client, a contracting company specializing in building and electromechanical works, was engaged to construct a polyethylene pipe factory in one of Saudi Arabia’s economic cities under three main contracts: Construction and finishing of the PE/PP building, Electromechanical works, Embedded electrical and mechanical services. The client executed the project efficiently and completed all works, culminating in an official handover signed by the project owner and consultant, with a total contract value of 28 million Saudi riyals. Disputes later arose regarding payment, as the owner paid only 23 million Saudi riyals and refused to settle the remaining 5 million Saudi riyals, despite full completion and official acceptance of the works. We filed a commercial lawsuit to claim the outstanding amounts, including bank guarantee fees, unpaid previous progress payments, and additional works carried out at the owner’s request. The court appointed a specialized accounting expert to review contracts, progress claims, and all financial documents. We represented our client before the expert, presenting a comprehensive technical and accounting file detailing payments, change orders, and project milestones. Following hearings and completion of the expert review, the court issued a final judgment in favor of our client, ordering the factory owner to pay the full outstanding 5 million Saudi riyals. This case highlights our firm’s ability to represent contracting companies in major industrial projects before Saudi courts and to secure their rights through specialized legal knowledge and precise accounting expertise. In every case of this type, we emphasize that professional preparation and expert legal representation are essential to safeguarding the interests of contractors and suppliers in the Kingdom’s large-scale projects.

Commercial Court Ruling in Favor of Dubai-Based Company Recovering AED 3 Million in Trade Dispute

In a complex international trade dispute involving the supply of mobile accessories, audio-visual devices, computer peripherals, and communication equipment, our legal team secured a final ruling in favor of a Dubai-based company, recovering its full AED 3,000,000 claim. The opposing party attempted to evade payment through deceptive commercial tactics, including invoice manipulation, delivery disputes, and misuse of official seals by employees involved in the transactions. Our firm systematically dismantled every false argument, presenting verified invoices, delivery documents, and commercial correspondence supported by strong legal reasoning that established the company’s contractual rights. The court ultimately ruled in full favor of our client, ordering the opposing party to pay AED 3 million. This outcome underscores our firm’s expertise in handling cross-border commercial disputes, and our ability to protect international clients from fraudulent business practices through meticulous evidence-based litigation.

Securing 112 million SAR in compensation for our client in a complex contractual and engineering dispute involving a liquid products operations and storage facility

In one of the most complex engineering and contractual disputes in Saudi Arabia, our client invested 162 million Saudi riyals in a liquid storage and operation facility. The project, which included detailed engineering designs and execution, suffered major operational and design errors caused by the contractor and designer—both leading global engineering firms—resulting in severe vibrations at startup and nearly triggering an environmental and criminal catastrophe. Leveraging our firm’s legal and technical expertise, we acted promptly to protect our client’s rights and recover financial entitlements. Our legal strategy focused on establishing the causal link between errors and damages, while holding all responsible parties fully accountable. The defendant attempted to evade liability by restructuring its corporate entities and engaging the same global law firm to represent newly created companies. We exposed to the court that the key individual held administrative authority across three entities, presenting evidence to demonstrate unity of representation and enforce responsibility for compensation. An independent engineering expert was appointed by the court to assess operational and design faults based on documentation from both sides, confirming the defendant’s responsibility for actual damages and clarifying the technical and financial consequences of the errors. Ultimately, our client obtained a final judgment of 112 million Saudi riyals, excluding lost profits, affirming the strength of our legal advocacy. This case highlights our ability to manage complex engineering and contractual disputes, counter legal evasion, and leverage technical and administrative evidence. Our firm acts as a strategic partner, combining legal expertise, technical understanding, and business insight to deliver tangible results and protect client interests.

Company Wins Market Rent Case Against Ministry of Finance

Our law firm successfully secured a major legal victory for our client, a commercial company, after the Ministry of Finance halted her business activities on a property designated for its operations due to a government project requiring expropriation. Although the Ministry argued that the temporary takeover was due to the size of the project and delays in property assessment by the relevant committees, we filed a case on behalf of our client before the Administrative Court to claim market rent compensation for the period of property use. Relying on strong legal defenses to annul the administrative decision, we demonstrated that the suspension of business activities caused direct financial harm, and that the Ministry had no right to postpone compensation during the extended expropriation process. Our efforts resulted in a final court ruling awarding compensation for the period of property use, emphasizing the right of companies to receive fair market rent and compensation for damages caused by delays in administrative procedures. This success highlights our firm’s expertise in protecting corporate rights against administrative decisions and government authorities, and underscores the importance of specialized legal representation in securing due compensation and safeguarding business interests in complex government-related projects

Successful Legal Defense of Foreign Investor in Cosmetics and Perfumes Sector

Our law firm successfully protected the rights of our foreign investor client in the cosmetics and perfumes industry against charges filed by the public prosecutor for violating Commercial Labeling Laws. The accusations included failure to indicate product weight on all packaging and non-compliance with the global color coding standards. We relied on a thorough review of industry practices and regulations issued by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), highlighting the distinctions between batch and wholesale production, technical obligations regarding raw materials, fragrance coloring after processing, and pharmaceutical production standards. This demonstrated that our client fully complied with both local and international legal and technical requirements. Additionally, we presented legal evidence confirming the compliance of our client during sample collection, proving that all procedures adhered strictly to SFDA regulations and standards. Our approach effectively refuted the allegations, showing that all products met the required specifications. Administrative Ruling for a Marine Tug Supplier Cancels 10% Delay Penalty on SAR 52.7 Million Contract

Our law firm secured a landmark legal victory for our client, a leading marine company specializing in manufacturing and supplying marine tugs and maritime equipment, after a Saudi port authority imposed a 10% delay penalty on a SAR 52,700,000 marine contract, despite the company fulfilling all contractual obligations. Challenging this excessive penalty, we filed a case before the Administrative Court, presenting strong legal defenses highlighting the authority’s breach of contract and violations of the Government Tenders and Procurement Law. Our team also submitted detailed legal schedules demonstrating a 1080-day delay in payment, proving administrative negligence and the illegality of the imposed penalty. Thanks to a strategic legal approach and thorough documentation, including maritime contracts and technical records, the court fully annulled the delay penalties, reaffirming that companies have the right to execute marine and maritime government contracts without being held liable for delays caused by administrative shortcomings. This victory underscores our firm’s expertise in protecting corporate and maritime rights against government authorities, highlighting the importance of specialized legal representation in securing corporate rights under complex maritime government contracts

Administrative Court Ruling Secures Bank Guarantee for Marine Equipment Supplier

Our law firm achieved a landmark ruling for our client, a leading marine company specializing in the supply of marine equipment, after a port authority refused to release the bank guarantee associated with the contract. The contract included three types of bank guarantees: final performance guarantee, supply of marine parts and equipment, and renewal of marine parts. The company fully complied with all contractual obligations, including extensions and change orders issued by the port authority. Despite full compliance, the authority attempted to withhold the bank guarantee, prompting our firm to file a case before the Administrative Court, presenting detailed legal defenses interpreting the contract and affirming the company’s right to the release of the guarantees. Thanks to a strategic legal approach supported by contracts and maritime correspondence, the court ruled in favor of the company, confirming the right of marine companies to reclaim bank guarantees after fulfilling contract obligations, without undue delay by government authorities. This ruling highlights our firm’s expertise in protecting corporate and maritime rights against governmental authorities and underscores the importance of specialized legal representation in securing company rights under complex marine government contracts.
